My second player cannot join. When he joins it is just creating a new player for him and not giving him all of his XP and inventory

I cannot craft anything. I have a lot of things in my inventory but when I pull up the crafting menu there is nothing available for me to craft. ft.

I cannot use blocks. When I press left trigger absolutely nothing happens. I can't eat, I can't place blocks. Basically nothing with left trigger works.
