rain not observing blocks

when ever i hit play to launch mc it loads that version, but does not launch. It does not matter which version i try to launch

so i increased the render distance to 22chunks. the render distance did not increase like i expected it to. look at the pictures because i cannot explain this

whenever i set the chunck render distance to 16 chunks minecraft crashes for me.
