Grass and other plants can be generated on netherrack from a Ruined Portal. Bonemeal will not do this, it appears to happen at chunk generation.

Enchanted books can be applied to any item while in creative mode.

Compases have much more jittery behavior in item frames whilst in non overworld dimensions.
