After i killed te enderdragon i didn't get the "free the end" achievement, this is already a couple of months ago, but when i respawned the enderdragon and defeated it again i got the achievement for killing it and it dropped as much xp as the first dragon did. A couple days back i realized there also was a new dragon egg.
The second dragon did generate an end gateway.
