I am playing on minecraft Pe and I was going to play multiplayer with my friend. I had turned on multiplayer for my world we were on and had checked all of the settings before joining. Once I had gotten into the world, I checked the Multiplayer settings and it was dissabled. The same thing occurred for my friend also.
