Every Single Entity Killed

I was riding on a strider a few chunks away in a lava lake deep underground, and while I was on it I left the game. I came back and the strider was gone, which upset me, so I went into my nether portal back to my nether base and took another portal back to back up to the surface only to find that all of my villagers and iron golems had completely disappeared. Upon further inspection, all of my pets and animals in fences had vanished as well. The only survivors were a wandering trader that had spawned, the villagers of an area closer to where I was when I joined back in, and my bees, since they were in their hives. I don't know how this happened. I made a clone just in case there was something going on with the strider before I did any of this, but that was as I had left the game. I do not know what happened, is there anything I can do?
