My hot bar disappears randomly when I open settings it goes away when I enter the nether or reset the game but it’s really annoying

I am looking for this problem. I just started using the pc for Minecraft bedrock. I have realms. Since update yesterday I will hit escape to look at a setting, come back, and I’m wondering why I can’t see my hot bar. (With getting use to scrolling on a mouse. I get lost quickly)
my husbands thinks I’m nuts til I finally found it on here. We were playing on my realm and I had him pull up the video settings for his character and they matched, he was on PS5 and I was on PC.
I can’t find any true way to reproduce it, but if anyone wants to go through my bedrock server log they will see why I kept reloading it.
somehow I lost my Sword and bow too? Very confused
