Broken treasure map

While playing creative mode, I found a treasure map  in a shipwreck I found. While waiting for hero of the village to drop before doing another raid, I tried to use the treasure map to find the treasure. However the white circle that represents my location was not moving, no matter in which direction I went. Because of this, I was unable to actually find the treasure and had to give up, return to by base, and put the treasure map away.
