Server won't launch on x86 Linux/Mac

When I tried to launch the server with the given command, it said,

iMac:minecraft_server user$ LD_LIBRARY_PATH=. ./bedrock_server
 -bash: ./bedrock_server: cannot execute binary file

On linux, it said the same thing.

I even tried to delete the

LD_LIBRARY_PATH=.

 but still the same error.

I don't have a windows machine that I can use for the server, since I live in a Mac (and Mac's running Linux) only household (with an exeption for my brother's gaming laptop and my mom's work laptop).

Right now only x64 architecture is supported. (see comment by @unknown here: BDS-212)

I'm not getting this working on Mac either. Would love to get this running. I realize that I have FreeBSD on the mac. Is there something that could help me port this Ubuntu version to run on my Mac?
