I discovered this while messing around with water textures. It's not that important, but I thought that I might as well report it anyway.
I expected for the recently added (at time of posting) water overlay for water and glass to have smooth lighting, like the glass itself. Instead, it ignores the smooth lighting video option.
Below are three screenshots. One shows the overlay on max smooth lighting, while to other shows it on no smooth lighting. The third was tested in the first snapshot where these water overlays came out.(I used a resource pack to make the glass more transparent)
You can reproduce this by making a dark room, constructing a glass wall, placing water behind it, and placing a light source nearby.
