I was working on a creative map in LAN mode with my brother, when he stupidly chose to teleport me and input too high a number. The server kicked me out and since then has been giving me an "Illegal Stance" message. Unfortunately I don't have a back-up of the map itself. I don't know if this is a common problem, since I didn't find anything in the search bar, but I should very much like to be able to get back into this map! Please help.

The above answer makes the user lose everything in his inventory, not good at all.
I'd like to offer a better answer which worked for me. Someone that has authority to teleport on the server needs to get on and type out the command to have the victim teleported to him. The victim gives the countdown 3, 2, 1 and then tries to login, while the person sends the teleport command. My son came up with the solution and it worked perfectly during version 1.6.2 2013
Delete .minecraft/saves/<worldname>/players/<playername>.dat (Inventory will be lost!)
Seems to be a firewall / zone alarm related problem, read on here: https://getsatisfaction.com/mojang/topics/illegal_stance
