Unable to start LAN detection

I was playing multiplayer with my friends. I expected to happen was just to go in and play.
I wanted to go in and play
The world never showed up and I went to check the Minecraft launcher and the Game output said "[09:57:45] [Client thread/WARN]: Unable to start LAN server detection: Can't assign requested address
I couldn't play. I have checked and this doesn't occur in 1.8.9. My friend running OS X on a Macbook pro could;t join my multiplayer game that I posted, but my friend on a lenevo running windows 7 could

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Open Minecraft in 1.9.2
2. Go to multiplayer
3. Go to Minecraft Launcher and check Game Output for the thing

This issue seems to duplicate a similar issue where you would have to completely disable the firewall to play minecraft multiplayer, even if minecraft is in the list of allowed programs. However, I will still suggest a fix for you, which involves your Internet settings. Your flow control and/or interupt moderation could be denying communication between you and your friwnd's computers. If you are on a windows,

1. Go to your network and sharing center, hit properties, and find where it says Flow control, and DISABLE RT and TX

2. While still in that area DISABLE INTERRUPT MODERATION.

You should save the settings you change as a note document of some type in case it doesn't work.

If you are on an apple, I can't help you without looking it up.

I hope this fixes your issue, if not, leave a comment and say so.

Thanks for you help but I donut think its that because if I post a game from my side and someone else joins certain computers can certain cannot. P.S. I'm am using OS X on a mac book air
