Updated to the most recent snapshot today, and the lava color is extremely red. I thought it was a resource pack so I got rid of my resource packs, still red. I checked the changelog then went back to snapshot 16w20, and the lava was the normal color.
Screenshots show the same location: went into spectator mode to find a place with both still and moving lava, took a screenshot then changed versions.
