Crashed upon longing onto a server

What I expected to happen was: I expected to join a public minecraft server.
Describe what you thought should happen here: I thought I should get directed to the server and essentially connect to it to play minecraft.

What actually happened was...: Minecraft crashed and I ceased to be able to play the game.
Describe what happened here: I logged onto a server from the multi player menu and was immediately directed to a crash screen.

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Open minecraft from the launcher.
2. Go to multi player within minecraft.
3. Select a server.
4. Join the server. (Crash happens here, specifically when attempting to join the server address "us.mineplex.com".
