What happened was that I created a new survival world, then when I spawned, which was the morning, so no hostile mobs could spawn, there was a random enderman standing nearby. It hadn't teleported, and was just standing there.
What I thought should have happened is that the enderman should have teleported from a cave or not have been there at all, as it seems that it spawned in daylight.

More information if possible please. Was there a light level of seven or lower where the Enderman spawned? Can we absolutely rule out the possibility that it teleported from an underground cave while the world was loading?
