Mob Eggs Fired from Dispensers Don't Change Mob Spawners

Right-clicking a Mob Spawner with a Spawn Egg changes what mob the Spawner spawns. It would seem like firing a Mob Egg out of a Dispenser facing into the Spawner would do the same thing, but instead it just places the mob inside the Spawner block.
