Slime-launched boats hit ceilings of air and come back down

When I ride a boat and slime-launch it, sometimes the boat comes back down almost immediately, like it hit a ceiling of air. Only sometimes happens, other times are normal. When it comes back down, it does it forcefully and fast, like when it collides with something.
