[MC-112465] Water disappearing

When flying fast with the elytra, placing a water bucket down will cause the water to disappear. It does this in creative and survival mode.

Please provide exact steps to reproduce this issue. Additional screenshots -with the debug screen enabled (F3) - would be helpful, too.

I believe this has been reported long ago, but I couldn't find the bugreport.
