Server crash-on-exit - Java 1.8.0 / 121

When launching the server using "java -Xmx4096M -Xms4096M -jar minecraft_server.1.11.2.jar -o true", the server takes longer to launch than with previous java release (~9 seconds vs. ~2 seconds). When shutting down the server (typing "stop" on the console window), a Windows crash dialog pops up:

"Java(TM) Platform SE binary has stopped working" with all of the boilerplate error text.

No errors in the server log, game state seems to have saved successfully. The only changes to the computer were updating Java, and updating video drivers (which should not affect the server). Error occurs even if launching the server and shutting it down, without any clients connecting.

This is not a Minecraft issue.

Install the non-crashing Java and report the crash at Oracle.

I disagree: I was not asking for Mojang to assist me in this issue. This was an attempt at a courtesy notice that Java has updated, and it appears to have introduced side-effects with the minecraft server 11.2 jar. Per Oracle's policy, when crashes are uncovered in a Java app after updating the Java version, an issue should be raised with the app creators, so I attempted to do so. However, apparently that was a mistake on my part. My apology.
