Distance by Elytra statistic resets (integer overflow?)

The "distance by elytra" (aviateOneCm) statistic for my account on the Minecraft server I play on has reset. The last time I checked, it was at around 17000 km.

Now it's at less that 1000km.

This would be explainable if stats were stored in 32 bit signed integers, as they overflow at an equivalent of about 21474km, which (combined with my current stat) is a very realistic estimate of my actual current total flying distance.
