It is still backing out to the launcher every time I try to load a world. I don't have McAfee or Avast on my system, so it isn't that. I tried uninstalling Minecraft and reinstalling it. I even tried updating Java. Nothing is working. It won't even let me view the crash report. When I ask for more details, it just tells me the same thing.
The game crashed whilst updating screen events
Error: java.lang.IllegalStateException: failed to create a child event loop.
Please help!!

Except that the duplicate doesn't help me. I don't have avast or Mcfee on my system, but am still experiencing the problem.
