I simply can not open the software - it says "The game crashed whilst initializing game"

This may be caused by broken Nvidia graphics drivers.
Please check if the hotfix of MC-112780 fixes that problem.
If not, be sure to attach the crashlog from [minecraft/crash-reports/crash-<DATE>-client.txt|http://hopper.minecraft.net/help/finding-minecraft-data-folder].
