Connecting to a server that's bound to the machine's primary IP connects instantly. However, when connecting to a Minecraft server that is configured to run on the same machine, but on another interface (eg. eth0:1), it can easily take 6 seconds to connect with the IP. If you setup an A record to point to that IP (eg. test.mydomain.com), there's established a connection instantly.
We've tested this with 4 different machines in different datacenters and it's the same for all machines. The Minecraft servers that are bound to the primary ip using ip-address= loads instantly, but all Minecraft servers that are bound to another interface connects slowly unless you're connecting using an A record instead.

Hi.
It seems to still be an issue. I've tested with pretty much all versions since 1.7.10.
I've setup a server running 17w48a and it still takes a long time to connect to the server.
If you want to test, you can try joining with the IP: 46.105.247.140. It takes around 6-7 seconds for 'Connecting to server' to finish.
If you try with minecraft-test.primaservers.com (which points to 46.105.247.140) instead, you barely even notice the 'Connecting to server' text.
Is this still a issue in the latest version of the game(currently 1.13.1)?
If so, please add it to the affected versions, thanks!
Is this still an issue in the most recent versions (currently that is 1.12.2, or 17w48a) of Minecraft? If so, please update the affected versions and help us keeping this ticket updated from time to time. If you are the owner/reporter of this ticket, you can modify the affected version(s) yourself.
