Yesterday I was able to play minecraft perfectly fine however after updating to the new Windows 10 Creator update the game now instantly crashes when you click the "Play" button in the launcher. It is 100% down to the Windows update because I haven't made any other changes to my computer. The problem is that I can't fix it.

The linked duplicates aren't the same problem as mine. The whole reason my minecraft has broken is due to the Windows 10 Creator update and these duplicates date back to February.
The symptoms of the other tickets are exactly the same: 'Java binary stopped working'. We use that ticket as a collection of duplicates with the same symptoms.
But the "solution" of updating the graphics drivers doesn't fix the problem which suggests it's a different problem altogether
Just ignore the 'solution'. The cause of most all of these tickets is most likely a technical issue (issue caused by the operating system, and/or possibly some other software) and not a problem with Minecraft itself.
