The crash making the game unplayable has been resolved, but not the underlying cause of it. This will be solved in a future patch.

Just a note that I am still experiencing this issue with 1.12.

I'm running Fedora 19 x86_64 with flite 1.3.20.

As long as the Narrator setting is disabled, everything works fine. But an accidental Ctrl-B kills it, and then takes 3 crashes getting the setting back to off (it crashes every time the setting value is changed).

I've got version 1.12.2, and it's still crashing. This is Fedora 25, x86_64, with flite-1.3-26.fc24.x86_64.

The program also crashes with the same error when I create a Iron Golem, just as I place the pumpkin on top, or when I try to put armour on or open chests. Or hitting Ctrl-B, as mentioned in the original bug.

If it's been fixed in a later version, which version would that be? Or is there some other workaround?

Thanks (on behalf of my 9 year old daughter 🙂

Is this still a issue in the latest version of the game(currently 1.13.1)?

If so, please add it to the affected versions, thanks!

I can start and login, but when I double click on the existing game server, I get this:

FYI, still crashes with latest 1.14 minecraft, with flite package installed.  OS: Fedora 28 x86_64, patched up to last week as of this writing.

Matter of fact, just enabling narrator after installing flite crashes minecraft, and it's unrecoverable until you uninstall flite, since I don't know where to manually disable narrator in a config file.

This crash is not fixed. It still happens with:

  • Fedora 29

  • Minecraft 1.4.1

  • java-1.8.0-openjdk-1.8.0.212.b04-0.fc29.x86_64

  • flite-1.3-32.fc29.x86_64

You can work around this by editing ~/.minecraft/options.txt and changing the narrator:1 value to narrator:0

Yes, the workaround seems to work. I trust I loose only assistive technologies not a proper functionality of the game, right?
