Recipe book does not correctly add items to already placed but offset items in crafting grid invalidating recipe

The bug

The recipe book does not correctly add ingredients of a recipe to already existing items in the crafting grid if they are offset from the default placement the recipe book uses.

How to reproduce

1. Place two planks in the middle or right column of the crafting grid to craft sticks

2. Click on the sticks recipe
   → The additional planks are placed beginning in the top left instead of being added to the existing ones causing the recipe to become invalid
