The button itself is there but there is no sign of it. That is you can click on a white place where it should appear and the Auto-Crafting will open, it's just that I cannot see the icon itself.

The Auto-crafting button (that is the one that has a book icon on it) is not there. But you can still click it if you know where it should be.

You probably have a resource pack which is not updated to 1.12 yet. Deactivate it to see the crafting book.
