[MC-118537] Parrots do not spawn in pre 1.12 generated jungles

The bug

Rendered jungle in minecraft 1.11 and was going to find some parrots (older snapshot told they would spawn in already rendered jungle but couldn't find any biome is approximately 500 by 500 big.

I am experiencing the same issue, running an 1.11 and older version of Minecraft through Minecraft Realms. It's a quite large jungle, spanning 1000x1000 blocks To my knowledge even some parts of it has been ungenerated previous to 1.12 which should have spawned them. Is there spawnrate very low or should I keep looking?

Unable to reproduce in 1.12.2 or 18w02a. Generated a superflat world with the preset below in 1.11.2, closed and then re-opened the world in 1.12.2 (repeated for 18w02a), and watched as parrots spawned around me.
