I updated MC, 1.12 - PC
I've come across a issue where I "saved" several "custom" items, enchanted items with high enchantments for fun and testing it shouldn't be a issue.
However, I spammed up the Save toolbar to Slot 8 and it failed to delete/save/spawn items. I tried deleting the file I forget what it was called, essentially the hotbar save file- it saves the data. The hotbar save file is empty and new, however the C+1 still won't save. I'm puzzeled I've dug through all the reports and files- Nothing.
I'm reaching out for assistance as I'm at a loss I'm going to go through and delete certain files and clean up my folder however I'm very sure it's a bug. It was working when I updated- I haven't added any mods.

I have deleted the file, and restart the launcher to enable it to make a NEW "file" everything was erased. Now I went back through and even checked my controls: (I have reset to Default even tho they were default) C is the "add" button so to speak, so it's C + 1 -> Should put the hotbar on line 1 ... it doesn't, even before I deleted the file it wouldn't put the #1 Saved Hotbar, back into my hotbar.
So... I'm not sure lol is my client glitched? I don't THINK so, but I could be wrong. If anyone else has any ideas I'd prefer resolving this without having to drag out a bug report.

Can you upload the options.txt file and attach it to this report? (That file contains, among other things, your current keybindings). Also, please force a crash by holding F3 and C while in-game for 10 seconds, and attach that report here (this contains information about your computer that may be needed to reproduce).
If you play with OptiFine, you must choose your key, to save the toolbar, in your settings, control. Because you can't use one key (c) for 2 actions. I use the 'y'-key instead.
I've also had this issue but making a completely new instance fixed the problem. before the bug started i fumbled my keyboard, accidentally saving a hotbar in the process. it's possible that that could've had an effect but there was no output whatsoever in the log when i attempted to save a new hotbar in 1.18.2
