My Blocks aren't breaking

Hi! While I was playing minecraft, I decided to play survival. I chose the newest version, and when I started playing none of my blocks broke! I either had to break it 4 times or wait about a minute in a half for it to break. When it would break, I usually wouldn't get the block! I tried switching to other versions, but they did the same. I deleted that world, thinking it was just that one, but it didn't work for any others either. I switched to creative and it worked perfectly then. What is going on?

If you play Survival mode, you have to wait some time until the blocks break. You can break blocks quicker by using tools.

If you just want to build, start a world in Creative mode. There you can break all blocks instantly.

If that block is stone, you need a pickaxe.

It happens on my computer. When you try to break a block, the block will lag, and game keeps outputing "Can't keep up! Did the system time change, or is the server overloaded?Running <number>ms behind, skipping <number> tick(s)"

violine1101, I know I have to wait. I know about everything. I have been playing survival for 2 years. This is an actual problem. I break them fully, and they just reappear. I break the block fully 4 times, wait 30 seconds, and it is gone. I don't even get the block. An dI know I need tools to get certain things but this is happening with DIRT and WOOD and other items like that!

What's your render distance? Set it lower to reduce lag.

I break them fully, and they just reappear.

This really just sounds like really extreme server lag. Either you or the server you play on have a slow internet connection.

If you are playing on singleplayer mode:
