Sorry if this is a dupe but i cant find one, when u load up minecraft and click on one of the menu options the dont work. also if you go into game and hit escape and click the options they dont work either. lastly the sounds for picking up objects of the floor dont work.

Do you start the game by the launcher or from the browser ?
Launcher, I had recently force updated and tried to use 1.5 and 13w11a but neither work.

i tried updating java and that didn't work. Do you want me to zip up my .minecraft and send it to you, and ill delete servers and last login?

No. Thats useless.
You might try a clean installation:
stop Minecraft
rename .minecraft to something else
start the launcher
If that helps you can copy stuff from the renamed directory to the new one.
If that won't help, I'll resolve that ticket because it's a technical issue.
ok i found what the problem was, when you download all the files for minecraft in the launcher, it doesn't download the sounds for minecraft aswell. So i left minecraft running for 5 minutes and then they downloaded. Maybe the servers are under alot of pressure or something. Thanks for the help anyway.
P.S can i possible have a cape please it'll mean a lot :3

Derp. I always though that the Minecraft Menues do not work and the PickUp sounds do not work.
If I hadn't misread the title and the description we could have saved some time (I asked for the keybindings, because "the menues were not working...)
