Placing a barrier block and then holding a barrier item will not make those block appear, making barriers always invisible and giving a hard time to mappers that want to see where they placed their invisible blocks!

Turn particles on.
Apparently, the barrier doesn't show if particles are set to minimal! It works in any other particle setting though!
