I haven't experienced this myself, only my friend is affected by this bug, and only when he is using the official launcher with version 1.8 or higher (including the latest versions)
The bug
Whenever a piston sound is played, including with commands, the game crashes.
Steps to reproduce
Go on my friend's computer (good luck with that though)
Play a piston sound however you want, with a piston or with commands
Caused by corrupted assets. To fix, please locate the Minecraft data folder) and delete the
assetsfolder inside, then let the launcher redownload everything.For additional help, please use the community support link below.
