Shift + "Destroy Item" does not clear inventory

Example:
1: Must be in creative mode.
2: Put some items in your inventory.
3: Open your inventory.
4: Open the "Survival Inventory" Tab (chest icon on bottom right).
5: Hold your SHIFT key and click the "Destroy Item" button (bottom right, above the chest).
6: Notice that it does not clear your inventory as it used to.
