I'm here to note that on Minecraft: Java edition build 17w49a, one bug is that when taking the night vision potion, the bottom of the ocean is clear like it should be with the night vision potion, but going into the water, the effect goes away, and the water is back to its original state. I don't know if this is meant to be or if this is one of the bugs associated with the recent snapshots, but I've been having this problem now.

Don't think this is a bug, but rather the intended effect. use a water breathing potion to see underwater clearly.
