I could ride the pig, but, baby pigs appeared from nowhere.
Steps to Reproduce:
1. Spawn a pig.
2. Place a saddle on the pig.
3. Right-click to ride the pig.
4. Baby pigs will appear when the pig is ridden, every time.
Did you accidentally hold down right click with the pig spawn egg on the pig? If so, this effect is intended.
