Putting a log of any type in the crafting area yields 1 plank instead of 4

Whenever I put a log of any type in the 2x2 or 3x3 crafting grid, it only yields 1 plank. This was not the case in 17w48a and older. I already tried putting the old recipe in a data pack to try and fix it but, no, it didn't. Please help me.
