How to reproduce:
1. Search anything in the creative inventory.
2. Click on any item in said search.
3. Observe that the search text turns gray, and can be deleted all in one tap of the delete key.

However, this is Working as Intended.
This was always the case prior to the 1.13 snapshots, and it was a bug that the text was not instantly deleteable (see MC-121631). This bug has been fixed.
