Description:
I am running Minecraft 1.12.2 on Linux (Fedora 27, kernel 4.14.8) and the game will not start with a custom resolution. I'm using a Dell XPS 13 (HiDPi) so I wanted to render the game at 1600x900 as opposed to 3200x1800. This is the log of setting the custom resolution:
https://gist.github.com/dblitt99/3e69c72a6e00004b4ba2bbf1348f8228
I then set the resolution in GNOME settings and launched the game. It crashes with this error:
https://gist.github.com/dblitt99/953de58109472f2881ce801426a05978
I have tried using the mainstream java .jar launcher aswell as the 2.0.1005-dev-linux launcher found here:
https://www.reddit.com/r/Minecraft/comments/5opl31/help_us_test_the_new_minecraft_launcher_now_with/
and here:
https://launcher.mojang.com/mc-staging/download/Minecraft_staging.tar.gz
Expected behavior:
Game launches without crashing
Actual behavior:
Game crashes upon startup
Steps to Reproduce:
I think the description above describes this.

Michael Wobst: I have the lastest updated Tumbleweed and I can say that it does indeed crash upon startup with 1.12.2 and 1.13 respectively.
Hi.
I can confirm this issue in openSUSE Tumbleweed 20180117 with Minecraft 1.12.2 and openjdk version "1.8.0_151".
I'm using a xorg custom resolution (1600x900) instead my native resolution (1920x1080) and game crash on launch. If I change to native resolution game launches normally.
Thanks.
