I have no sound.
No music/blocks/mobs, no UI feedback, etc.
What I did last:
Updated Java,
restarted computer,
opened the MCJ launcher,
downloaded/installed 1.12.2,
felt deaf.
Prior to this I didn't have audio issues.

The issue seems to have automagically repaired itself.

This is probably due to MC-9974, where a reload of the game, or using F3+T can reset the sound engine. Could you maybe attach the game log from when it occurred?

Yep, all logs for the 19th say that OpenAL failed.
