In vanilla minecraft bed's no longer support railings by the leggings like you use to do in: previous the color update via the block. Even Windows 10 edition supports it. I tested it with solid black color on every single space besides default and compared it to windows 10 edition the result is that vanilla bed model cannot have the railings by default.

Previous 1.10.2 you could simply color per block 16x16 where you wanted what pixel not the case here and which you use to be able to get railings
Left shows a black bed all except for default and has no black railings regardless of windows 10 supporting it
I do not see the way to make the model this way or even how to change the vanilla bed model since they don't exist anymore.

how the hell do you resolve this issue without even fixing it nor commenting? If it was "working as intended" then why does both windows 10 edition and older versions such as 1.8 support railings by the feet?

Reopened and resolved as a duplicate of MC-122532 instead; @unknown resolved that ticket as Working as Intended, saying beds not being able to be remodeled is intended. (A result of that is that the side of the bed is no longer completely textureable)
I certainly disagree with that decision, but well, the devs decide how the game should work, not us.

well the thing says resolved there for the bed model but, it's not resolved. Did you ask jeb if it was purposeful for the bed not being able to change model and the textures of railing like it use to be and in every other edition except current because of his changes. Present that question like that and I am sure at least the bed model issue will get reopened
