Skeletons unable to damage the player when in a 2x1x2 area

Was playing survival when a skeleton came into a 2x1x2 cave area I was in. He started shooting, but every arrow went through me and into the wall behind me. But when I was not against the wall, he could damage me from any range.

EDIT: I should also mention that if a the skeleton was more than one block away from me, he could damage me.

I do not believe this is a duplicate of MC-596, it is different. That ticket is about the inhuman firing speed they used to have the moment they spotted you which was fixed, as they have a delay now when seeing you for the first time. This one is about their arrows not doing harm to the player if the player is up against a wall and the Skeleton is right in front of him. I too have experienced this bug for the longest time, and I assume it is because the Skeleton's arrows are bypassing the Player's hit-box. Could be wrong about what is causing it, I really do not know.

On one of the duplicates ive commented that this also happens for villagers in a 2 by 2 area (Doesnt matter if theres a block on top of the area) attacked by zombies. (This isnt the same way i commented it but still)

  • 15w36c Sorry I messed up, I was quite confused at tested at the end for a 1x1x2 area which would be MC-88008.

I can not confirm this bug anymore but please recheck
