Fishing sometimes fails to bring item to player

When using a fishing rod to catch fish, the spawned item will travel in a straight line parallel to the water rather than an arc, often resulting in the item failing to enter the player's inventory unless they are right at the edge of the water or they jump in after the item, as the item ends up staying in the water.
