Cannot open or find existing worlds

For some reason, 18w16a doesn't see many of my old worlds. They show up and play fine in 18w15a (and every prior version). I've tried renaming the folders to match the world name ("world" or "rdp industries", depending on which of the many world copies/versions that I have in my saves folder).

Did something with world detection change in 18W16a that I am missing? I didn't see anything in the release notes to make me think so, hence why I'm reporting this as a bug.

I'll reply with screenshots later.

Still having this issue in 18w19b. See attachment.

Tried renaming the folders... nothing. Still won't show up.

Did some more fiddling. The issue also occurs on windows 7 x64 (tried it on another system), so it's the worlds themselves, not something specific to Linux.

I've also determined that the issue is in the recognition of the level.dat file... something about it isn't being seen by minecraft as a valid world. Took a newly created world, subbed in the level.dat from it, world disappears. Swapped in the level.dat from a working world into the directory of one of the failed ones, and the world shows up, albeit with the wrong information. The world did load successfully, and although everything controlled by level.dat is obviously different, the rest of the world appears to match what I had before.

I'll attach the offending level.dat. If this isn't going to be fixed, I'll just make a "correct" level.dat and swap it for all worlds that aren't working that I still care about.

I deleted the comment, as I wasn't able to replicate it. Something else is at play... sigh

Try #2: (and this time I was able to replicate it)

Something in the world options doesn't agree:

Old: "2;7,59x1,3x3,2;1;stronghold,biome_1,village,decoration,dungeon,lake,mineshaft,lava_lake"

New:

"{}"

Changing the world options from the old to the new made the hidden worlds show up.

I will note that these worlds were originally superflat worlds that I later swapped to being "normal" generation a few years ago. These worlds are probably 3-4 years old from when I originally created them.

Please check if that's still an issue for you in the 1.13.1 release.
