[MC-129316] Tools not working

Tools like axes, pickaxe, shovel etc. stopped working properly after the new snapshot dropped. I can destroy blocks without them, but when using tools it doesn't work. The breaking animation sometimes flashes for an instant, but then disappears again, and no progress is made towards breaking the block

I'm having the same issue. I can make a pick, which will mine 1 block, but afterward will not mine anything else. If I make a new pick, that will also mine one block, but nothing afterward. Interestingly, if I combine the two non-functional picks to make a new pick, that will not work either.

Ditto. One block, then no longer works. Exiting and returning, it still does not work, nor does it do one block and then stop after exit and return (i.e. the exit then restart does not seem to reset the bit allowing the mining of one block).
