Black Screen on Startup (java.lang.ExceptionInInitializerError)

On starting the game, and logging in, I get the traceback:

Not a duplicate of MC-12492 because I only have one graphics card (see specs), and I'm using Oracle's JVM.

Please post the full crashreport.

I also have this issue. This is on a Fedora 18 x86_64 machine with the default desktop. I have it working in another x86_64 machine so I suspect the issue is with the GL drivers or similar but just a guess.

Hm I suspect this is a duplicate of MC-1371.

Manually updating LWJGL solved the issue for me.
