Data tags don't work

I was in a creative world and I wanted to make an instant kill weapon. I wanted to enchant a trident with sharpness 32767, and I noticed that the ench[] tag didn't apply. I tried it with the Riptide enchantment, and still nothing. I then tried the Unbreakable tag, doesn't work. I tried it on a diamond sword, still nothing. Data tags don't work in the prerelease.
