Gold Pickaxe not dropping items

When Mining Diamond with a Gold Pickaxe that has Fortune 3 it doesn't drop any diamonds.

I tested it against the Coal Blocks and it dropped as expected.

Diamond ore requires iron pickaxe or better to drop diamonds.

Yeahhh... gold can only mine coal ore.

It seems as though I'm experiencing this bug in minecraft 1.8.8. Although Coal and Nether quartz seem to be working just fine
