[MC-13203] Incorrect shadow and environment turns dark when stepping into that column

Sometimes, when you place a block(10.37.14.png), a dark shadow forms(10.37.03.png). If you step into that shadow, the sky becomes dark (10.37.07.png). But when you step out, the sky becomes blue again (10.37.10.png)
How to reproduce
1.Keep placing block in air
2.Look how the shadow suddenly forms.

(Although it said it's modded, in fact it is not. I am using Magic Launcher and I made sure that all mods were disabled)

Then use the default launcher to let the game run unmodded.

Is this still a concern in the current Minecraft version? If so, please update the affected versions in order to best aid Mojang ensuring bugs are still valid in the latest releases/pre-releases.
