The bug

Probably caused by the fix of MC-132706 sticky pistons now do not update blocks they cannot pull.

Slime blocks are apparently unaffected.

How to reproduce

  1. Build a setup similar to the one shown in

[media]

  1. Remove the redstone block
    → ❌ The water is not updated
